By being kind and generous to those around us, we can make a real difference in the world. These Bible verses remind us that helping others is not only a good thing to do, but it is also something that pleases God. Proverbs 3:27 ~ "Do not withhold good from those to whom it is due, when it is in your power to act."ġ John 3:17 ~ "If anyone has material possessions and sees a brother or sister in need but has no pity on them, how can the love of God be in that person?" Luke 6:30 ~ "Give to everyone who asks you, and if anyone takes what belongs to you, do not demand it back." My son, if your heart is wise, then my heart will be glad indeed. Galatians 6:10 ~ "Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers." The father of a righteous child has great joy a man who fathers a wise son rejoices in him. Hebrews 13:16 ~ "And do not forget to do good and to share with others, for with such sacrifices God is pleased." By serving those in need, we demonstrate our commitment to God's values and show compassion to those who are less fortunate. Overall, the Bible teaches that helping others is not only a moral obligation but also an expression of faith and love. John answered, Anyone who has two shirts should share with the one who has none, and anyone who has food should do the same. If one of you says to them, 'Go in peace keep warm and well fed,' but does nothing about their physical needs, what good is it? In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead." In James 2:14-17, it says, "What good is it, my brothers and sisters, if someone claims to have faith but has no deeds? Can such faith save them? Suppose a brother or a sister is without clothes and daily food. The Bible also emphasizes the importance of generosity and compassion towards others. Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me." A wise son maketh a glad father: but a foolish son is the heaviness of his mother. Proverbs 13:11: Wealth gained hastily will. My son, if thine heart be wise, my heart shall rejoice, even mine. You younger men, likewise, be subject to your elders and all of you, clothe yourselves with humility toward one another, for God is opposed to the proud, but gives grace to the humble. Proverbs 11:14: Where there is no guidance, a people falls, but in an abundance of counselors there is safety. One of the most well-known passages is found in Matthew 25:35-40, where Jesus says, "For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me. The father of the righteous shall greatly rejoice: and he that begetteth a wise child shall have joy of him. The Bible has many teachings about the importance of helping others.
